Stephanie McAllister Poon
Teachers Mentoring Teachers, Co-Coordinator
Stephanie McAllister Poon is a Social Studies teacher at Brookline High School, where she has taught for the past 18 years. She currently teaches World History, Philosophy and Economics. She is also the coordinator of the Teachers Mentoring Teachers Program, a new teacher mentoring and induction program, as well as serving as the Program Leader for a new senior capstone initiative at the high school. She earned a BA from Barnard College and an MTS from Harvard Divinity School. She served for several years on the American Academy of Religionís Religion in the Schools Task Force and contributed to their publication, Guidelines for Teaching About Religion in K-12 Public Schools in the United States. Stephanie was recently honored with the Cavalry Award for excellence in teaching from the Brookline Education Foundation. It is the highest honor a teacher in the Brookline Public School system can receive.
