In addition to enrolling in one of our degree programs at HDS, there are several other opportunities to take classes and participate in workshops and webinars to learn more about the cultural studies method and content about religions. The Religious Studies and Education Certificate and the Harvard X course on Scriptures: Origins and Interpreters are both open to a worldwide audience and do not require local residency. Specific courses offered through Harvard Extension School that employ the cultural studies method include Religion, the Arts, and Social Change; Religion, Conflict and Peace in Contemporary Global Affairs; Religion, Education, and Democracy; and Understanding Islam and Contemporary Muslim Societies. For those in the Cambridge area, Harvard Divinity School offers several other nondegree options for those interested in joining the community for a period of time without earning a degree. See here for more information.
