Eric Stephen is a doctoral candidate in the Committee on the Study of Religion at Harvard University, under the Religions of the Americas concentration. His work draws from American legal, social, and religious history to study the dynamic relationship between legal and popular understandings of religious liberty in the United States. Eric received a BA and MA from Wesleyan University, as well as an MTS from Harvard Divinity School. At the Religious Literacy Project, Eric directs the Religion in US History (RUSH) Project and the Mapping Project.
